*Mkeka* (The Mat)

"The Red, Black & Green Mkeka" (#1 in a series) was painted in December 2020 on a mini 4x4 flat panel canvas it rests firmly on a red & black 3x5 Beechwood hand painted Wood Easel. The Mat is one of the seven symbols of Kwanzaa that is traditionally a woven straw or textile mat and is thought of as the base for the other six symbols of Kwanzaa. It is a representation of the idea that nothing can be built without a foundation for it to rest on. "The Red, Black & Green Mkeka" is an example of what a handmade mat may look like and is the only canvas version of this painting and is a one-of-a-kind so get it while you can!
